Genome Stability: A New Member of the RFC family
نویسندگان
چکیده
Three distinct forms of replication factor C are known to play vital roles in genome replication and integrity in eukaryotic cells. A fourth such complex has recently been identified; initial results suggest that this new family member plays an important role during S phase.

Proposing New Algorithm for Modeling of Regenerative Fuel Cell (RFC) System
Regenerative Fuel Cell (RFC) systems are used for the enhancement of sustainable energy aspect in conventional fuel cells. In this study, a photovoltaic-electrolyzer-fuel cell integrated cycle has been presented. The proposed system has been designed as a novel approach for alleviating the restrictions on energy streams in the RFC systems. Modeling of the system has been performed from the mas...
متن کاملI-40: Male Genome Programming, Infertility and Cancer
Background: During male germ cells differentiation, genomewide re-organizations and highly specific programming of the male genome occur. These changes not only include the large-scale meiotic shuffling of genes, taking place in spermatocytes, but also a complete “re-packaging” of the male genome in post meiotic cells, leading to a highly compacted nucleo-protamine structure in the mature sperm...
متن کاملRibonucleotide incorporation by yeast DNA polymerase ζ.
During replication in yeast, the three B family DNA replicases frequently incorporate ribonucleotides (rNMPs) into DNA, and their presence in the nuclear genome can affect genome stability. This prompted us to examine ribonucleotide incorporation by the fourth B family member, Pol ζ, the enzyme responsible for the majority of damage-induced mutagenesis in eukaryotes. We first show that Pol ζ in...
متن کاملNew Functions of Ctf18-RFC in Preserving Genome Stability outside Its Role in Sister Chromatid Cohesion
Expansion of DNA trinucleotide repeats causes at least 15 hereditary neurological diseases, and these repeats also undergo contraction and fragility. Current models to explain this genetic instability invoke erroneous DNA repair or aberrant replication. Here we show that CAG/CTG tracts are stabilized in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by the alternative clamp loader/unloader Ctf18-Dcc1-Ctf8-RFC comple...
متن کاملELG1, a yeast gene required for genome stability, forms a complex related to replication factor C.
Many overlapping surveillance and repair mechanisms operate in eukaryotic cells to ensure the stability of the genome. We have screened to isolate yeast mutants exhibiting increased levels of recombination between repeated sequences. Here we characterize one of these mutants, elg1. Strains lacking Elg1p exhibit elevated levels of recombination between homologous and nonhomologous chromosomes, a...
